# STARTSWITH

Returns true or false result depending on if the given contains text appears anywhere within the given text value. Matching is case insensitive.

### Syntax

`STARTSWITH(val, startswith)`

### Example

If myfield has value 'ABCDEF', then:

```plaintext
startswith({{myfield}}, 'ABC') 
```

returns: `true`
