# REPLACE

Replaces the text matched by the given regular expression with the text specified in the replacement string.

### Syntax

`REPLACE(input, pattern, replacement)`

### Example

```plaintext
REPLACE({{input}}, 'ab*c', '_')

REPLACE({{input}}, {{regex}}, '_')
```

### Notes

Note that the regular expression pattern can be static text or passed in from another field.
