# DATEADD

Returns a new Date/Time that adds the specified number of units to the specified starting date value.

### Syntax

`**DATEADD(startdate**, numberunits, unit**)**`

### Example

If *mydatefield* has a value '01/01/2024', then:

```plaintext
DATEADD({{mydatefield}}, 6, 'MM')
```

returns: `01-07-2024`

### Notes

Unit specifiers are:  
YY - whole years  
MM - whole months  
DD - whole days  
HH - whole hours  
MI - whole minutes  
SS - whole seconds
