# CONTAINS

Returns true or false result depending on if the given contains text appears anywhere within the given text value. Matching is case insensitive.

### Syntax

`CONTAINS(val, contains)`

### Example

If myfield has value 'ABCDEF', then:

```plaintext
contains({{myfield}}, 'CDE') 
```

### returns:

`true`
